Each year, Sunlake Academy PTSO raises funds through events (Raise Craze, Ravenfest & Gala), and donations. A large percentage of these fundraising efforts are given back to our school, our teachers, and our staff in the form of Curriculum Enrichment Grants & Allocations. These grants and allocations are an important part of maintaining Sunlake Academy's standards of excellence in education. 

 


For the 2024-2025 school year, the Sunlake PTSO has accomplished the following:   

 

  • Through School Toolbox, organized school supply boxes for families to order for the upcoming school year
  • Designed and delivered PTSO Spirit Store shirts and other school spirit items. 
  • Sent 130 letters to local businesses to introduce our PTSO business sponsorship program for 24/25 year. 
  • Secured 25 business sponsors (as of 8/26/24), ordered and hung banners for Gold and Blue level sponsors, all Sponsors logos are hyperlinked on our website and post weekly Facebook spotlights to present the sponsors to our school community.
  • Introduced PTSO at Seussville events for incoming Kindergarten families.
  • Updated QR Codes for families to quickly access PTSO related information - PTSO Website, Facebook page, becoming a member, Volunteering, Spirit Store, purchasing school supplies.
  • Hosted the Welcome Back Breakfast (donated by Brunchies Carrollwood) for our teachers on their first day back to school. Supplied them all with personalized sign for their door in the school year’s theme: COLORS.
  • Purchased 40+ elementary recess balls and a new outdoor storage unit eliminating the need to carry recess equipment to and from class. 
  • Collected "Favorites Lists" and "Amazon Wish Lists" for each teacher and posted to PTSO website.
  • Partnered with Imagine Your Designs by Monica for signs to welcome teachers and students back to school.
  • Secured volunteers to staff tables at Meet the Teacher event to sell spirit shirts and items, share PTSO information and help with other areas.
  • Offered a set $ amount to each grade team lead to purchase items for classroom enrichment from Amazon for their teams. Ordered and delivered the items to teachers.
  • Hosted the BooHoo Breakfast for the Kindergarten families on the first day of school. 
  • Hosted a meeting for Homeroom Parents and Volunteers to discuss opportunities and guidelines
  • Stocked the Inchy book vending machine, provided teachers and Administration with tokens to give to students as incentives who reach classroom and iXL goals. Additionally, 1 token given to each Student of the Month  
  • Hosted a Spirit Night at Chick Fil A
  • Set up sign-ups for families to donate snacks for monthly Staff Meetings
  • Grandparents Day – arranged for volunteers and provided coffee, snacks and activities for Students and Grands. 
  • Hosted a Spirit Night at SoFresh
  • Hosted a Meet and Greet at Double Bogeys for parents to get to know each other. 
  • Hosted a membership drive in September with prizes for the classes/teachers with the top percentage of families signed up and 1 Amazon Gift Card to a family chosen at random – Thank you to the #241 families that signed up! 
  • Hosted Scholastic Book Fair in September. 
  • Approved Grants for Battle of the Books Club, Bioluminescence Science Experiment, Bioluminescence Creatures

  • Arranged a meeting for all committee chairs and board to get to know one another and a chance to thank the chairs for volunteering

  • Planned and Hosted the RavenFest Community Event in November raising $10,000 in net income
  • Celebrated Teacher Birthdays Monthly (donated by Nothing Bundt Cakes)
  • Supplied gifts to all the Students of the Month (cookies and Inchy tokens)
  • Hosted Scholastic Book Fair in September, February & April BOGO
  • Facilitated Dress Down Days in September, December, January and March – sold and delivered passes prior to the event as well as collected cash during carline in the mornings.
  • Partnered with CSA to UPDATE OUR 5000 Sq Ft PLAYGROUND with new play equipment, removed mulch and installed Turf. 
  • Fulfilled $250 Grant Request for Holiday Concert
  • Celebrated Custodian’s Day with a cart full of goodies and cards from students
  • Law Enforcement Day – gave thank you cards and gift cards to our SRO Ofc. and Morning Traffic Officer 
  • Organized hospitality and volunteers for Career Day
  • Provided the teachers/staff a Thanksgiving Feast, food catered by Brunchies
  • Organized and provided a Holiday Party for teachers/staff 
  • Organized and staffed with volunteers the Holiday Shop for students to shop for gifts for their friends and families
  • Organized Gift Crowd site for easy holiday gifting from school families to teachers and staff in December
  • Family Events – Movie on the Lawn in February (coincided with February Book Fair)
  • Hosted the Gala in March at HIlton Garden Inn, raising $22,000+ towards playground improvements.
  • Supported the staff during bereavements and celebrations of new life

  • Hosted a thank you breakfast for business sponsors with a tour of improvements made and a chance to meet and get to know them. Presented all with a certificate. Those who couldn’t attend were mailed the certificates with a photo card featuring event photos and signed by the board.
  • Hosted in-person/Zoom PTSO meetings in Sept, October, February and April to share updates with the membership and allow for questions.
  • Provided goodie bags for all of the kindergarten and 8th grade promotion students.
  • Provided Yard Signs to all the 8th Grade promoted students 
  • Provided an end of the year gift to the teaches and staff

  • Purchased a new microwave for the 1st floor teacher’s lounge
  • Grandparents Day – arranged for volunteers and provided coffee and snacks
  • Hosted a membership drive in September with prizes for the classes/teachers with the top percentage of families signed up and 1 Amazon Gift Card to a family chosen at random – 242 families were signed up at the end of the drive

  • Set up sign ups for families to donate items to stock the teacher break rooms regularly through the year with some basics (bottled water, coffee, tea, snacks)
  • Helped with the Book Character Parade and organized the Trunk or Treat event and candy bars for Middle School for Halloween
  • Hosted the Raise Craze Fundraiser in October: raised $56,533 and organized two school wide Acts of Kindness (donations for foster children and Humane Society) plus recorded 3,063 Acts of Kindness done by students

  • Secured donation from Evergreen Outdoor Landscape of 7 garden boxes, 1 for each grade K-5 and 1 for MS.  Secured Volunteers to set up and prepare for planting. Gathered wish list items and purchased with enrichment funds.
  • Purchased new letters for the road sign sign on Dale Mabry to advertise school events.
  • Hosted the Gala in March at Casa Santo Stefano, raising $20,000+ towards playground improvements.

For the 2019-2020 school year, the Sunlake PTSO accomplished the following:

  • A new PTSO website!
  • Finalized and secured the approval and contract for the Sun Shade and accomplished getting Phase 1 installed.
  • Organized and offered School Supply boxes.
  • Hosted the Welcome Back Breakfast for our amazing teachers! And supplied them all with personalized signs for their doors.
  • Hosted the BooHoo Breakfast for our sweet Kindergarten families.
  • Designed and provided well-received Spirit Store shirts and accessories.
  • Raised donations to purchase Ponchos for our teacher and car line staff.
  • Provided Bulletin Board materials for the Homeroom Parents.

  • Hosted a Virtual Sunlake Dance party during the COVID-19 quarantine
  • Showered the Teachers with Appreciation during Teacher Appreciation week with Yard Signs and a Gift Card drive.
  • Organized the Homeroom Parents which resulted in many classroom parties and fun and endless bulletin boards created.
  • Provided goodie bags for the all of the Kindergarten, 5th Grade and 8th Grade graduates.
